Emerald City Music Behind the Scenes: Her Story of a Soldier
Emerald City Music gave an exciting premiere of Angelique’s new work, Her Story of a Soldier on September 13 and 14 in Seattle and Olympia. Part of that premiere included this well-crafted video by Victor Caccese giving some insight to the process of the creation of the work and its performance, which you can watch below. Special thanks to all of the outstanding performers: Kristin Lee, violin; Alexander Fiterstein, clarinet; John Rojak, trombone; Michael Thurber, double bass; Ian Rosenbaum, percussion; and the dancers, Michael O’Neal Jr. and Angel Moonyeka Alviar!

Seattle Symphony’s 2019-20 Season to Include Two World Premiere Commissions by Angelique Poteat
The Seattle Symphony’s 2019-20 promises to be full of spectacle as the inaugural season of Music Director Thomas Dausgaard. Included are two world premiere commissions of Poteat: her intense and vibrant Cello Concerto written for SSO Principal Cellist Efe Baltacıgil; and a season-long collaboration with teens from across King County for youth choir and orchestra that reflects upon the legacy of Beethoven for his 250th birth year.
